In the world of Terragon, which has endured colossal upheavals, past events cast a heavy shadow on the present. Five hundred years ago, the world stood on the brink of catastrophe as the dragon cult sought to summon Tiamat, the dragon goddess, into our realm, intending to grant her absolute power. This dark chapter in history could have been the last for all the races inhabiting this world if not for the desperate efforts of a group of brave adventurers and the Council of Mages, led by the archmage, the high elf Silarion Eltarin. Silarion and his allies, combining their powers, managed to thwart the summoning ritual at the last moment, using Tiamat’s own power against her. As a result of this daring operation, all dragons were banished from our world, preventing Tiamat’s dominion.
But this act had unforeseen consequences. Following that day’s events, the flow of Weave and magic—the life forces that once freely coursed through the world—were disrupted. Wizards, druids, sorcerers, and other magical classes found themselves unable to draw magic freely from the environment. In response, a unique technology was developed: mills for condensing and compressing magic into a physical form known as mysteries. These mysteries, essentially coins containing concentrated magical energy, have become the key to using magic in this new world.
