Race: Owlin, Reborn
Essu Dimclaw was born in the mountainous region of Terragon, in a small village (~100 owlins). From a young age, he showed a deep connection to nature, spending most of his time soaring through the mountains or exploring nearby forests. Initially, his kin viewed his abilities with skepticism, but his gentle and kind nature soon made him a valued helper. With his skills, he assisted in handling wild animals and became an excellent aid in agriculture, intuitively knowing what each crop needed, thus increasing its fertility.
But the world of Terragon was constantly changing, and a nearby dwarven kingdom decided it was time to expand. This marked the darkest day for the owlin village—though for the dwarves, it was simply a day of development, a day no dwarf would remember, but no owlin would ever forget. As a result of their expansion, Essu’s lifeless body lay among the ruins of his village. At that moment, a goddess—a feathered being—appeared to him, breathing life into him once more, though something fundamental was forever lost. Alongside life, he lost something irreplaceable, perhaps something he might never regain. This transformation affected not only his soul (some say it was also lost) but also his appearance, as all the color drained from his feathers. He no longer needed to eat (though he lost the taste, perhaps of life itself), nor did he need to breathe or sleep.
He became a new being, merciless and changed, with the newfound ability to transform into monstrous forms. Now a nocturnal terror, he hunted in the dark, claiming lives in the name of an unknown goddess, feeling alive only through these acts. Thus, becoming an assassin seemed a natural choice—after all, why not combine pleasure with work?
