Mimir, the Crimson Deceiver
Backstory
Over 500 years ago, before the banishment of Tiamat from Terragon, a mighty adult red dragon named Mimir dwelled in several lairs, the main of which lay deep within the Underdark. There he kept his most valuable treasures, among which the legendary Tear of Sardior held a place of highest esteem. When the great war with the Cult of Tiamat began, Mimir chose to hide in his subterranean domain.
However, even in the Underdark he was not spared the magic of the “Eternal Slumber”, which destroyed the bodies of all dragons on Terragon. Due to his deep bond with the Tear of Sardior, Mimir’s spirit avoided final death, transforming into a ghost dragon. For over three centuries he remained hidden, until one day a wounded chimera stumbled into his lair. Exploiting the vanity of its draconic head, Mimir seized control of the creature’s body, paralyzing the lion and goat heads and concealing his “imperfect” form with an ancient magical cloak.
Motivation
Mimir’s driving force is his treasure, the Tear of Sardior, which ties him to the material world. He will go to any lengths to protect the artifact from theft or loss. He is also obsessed with reclaiming his former glory, which led him to accept the worship of Karl, a former cultist of the Dragons of Toril.
Current Events
With Karl’s help, Mimir founded his own cult, aiming to expand his influence within and beyond the Underdark. He occasionally leaves his lair to strike terror into nearby settlements.

Unique Weaknesses
- Hatred for Ptaris: If there are any creatures within sight carrying items once belonging to Ptaris, Mimir will attack them first.
- Bound to the Tear of Sardior: If the artifact is stolen or destroyed, Mimir’s spirit will vanish, losing its tether to the world. Therefore, Mimir will stop at nothing to keep it safe.
