The tiefling girl wakes up, and the only thing she remembers is a dream—in this dream, she sees ravens circling above a field covered in winter snow. Everything around her is white, and only the ravens stand out with their deep, black color. She realizes that the ravens seem to be calling her, and through strange visions and images that she surprisingly understands on a subconscious level, she comes to a revelation—she is alive thanks to the Raven Queen. And now, her purpose is to aid the Raven Queen in maintaining the balance between the natural cycle of life and death.
Beyond that, she knows her name is Saya, and that this name means “cry” or “wail.” It was given to her anew, and she knows it is not her true name. Yet, apart from her faith in her goddess, it is the only thing she has left. All other memories—who she is and where she came from—are hidden from her.
