“With Faeries in the Swamp” Script
Characters:
- Fairy 1 (Lily): Silly but kind-hearted faerie.
- Fairy 2 (Rosalie): Slightly less silly than Lily, but still naive.
- Kobold (Gring): A sneaky and clever kobold, though not the brightest.
- Aeliana: Heroic elven warrior, brave and wise.
Setting: A misty swamp. The stage is decorated with eerie trees, a small bog, and a few bushes from which Gring can pop out unexpectedly. In the center of the stage is a cage where the faeries will eventually be trapped.
Scene 1: In the Swamp
(Lily and Rosalie are flying over the swamp, examining flowers and frogs.)
Lily: (Excitedly) Rosalie, look at these beautiful flowers! They’re glowing!
Rosalie: (Flying closer) Yes, yes, Lily, but don’t you think they smell kind of… strange?
Lily: (Thoughtfully) Smell strange? (Sniffs a flower and wrinkles her nose) Oh, you’re right! But they’re so pretty!
Rosalie: (A bit worried) Don’t you feel like it’s getting darker around us?
Lily: (Shrugs) Darkness is just an absence of light, and we have light! (Points to her wings)
(The faeries continue flying, not noticing Gring sneaking up on them.)
Gring: (Whispering to himself) Oh, what luck today! These faeries are so clueless… My trap worked perfectly! (He presses a hidden lever, and a cage starts rising slowly from the swamp)
Scene 2: The Trap
(The cage suddenly snaps shut around the faeries, and Lily and Rosalie find themselves trapped inside.)
Lily: (Panicking) Oh no, what’s happening? We’re trapped!
Rosalie: (Worriedly) Lily, I think it’s a trap!
Lily: (Still in disbelief) But who would trap us? We’re so tiny and elusive!
Gring: (Stepping out from behind a bush, smirking) Ha-ha-ha! Caught you, silly faeries! You’re mine now!
Lily: (Indignantly) Who are you, and why did you trap us?
Gring: (Boastfully) I am the great Gring, the smartest of kobolds! And now you’re my captives!
Rosalie: (Timidly) And what are you going to do with us?
Gring: (Menacingly) I’ll sell you for a pile of gold! Faeries fetch a high price on the black market! Oh, I’ll be so rich!
Scene 3: Aeliana’s Arrival
(The fog thickens, and footsteps can be heard. Aeliana enters the stage, majestic and confident.)
Aeliana: (Loudly and confidently) What’s going on here?
Lily and Rosalie: (In unison) Aeliana! Help us!
Gring: (Scared) Who’s there? I’m not afraid of you!
Aeliana: (Calmly but firmly) You, kobold, made a mistake capturing my friends. Release them, and I’ll let you go unharmed.
Gring: (Sarcastically) Oh, really? And if I don’t? You won’t be able to break through my magical cage!
Aeliana: (Smiling) Magical? You overestimate your abilities. (She steps forward and quietly chants a spell. The cage begins to glow and then melts away like morning mist.)
(The faeries are freed and joyfully flutter around Aeliana.)
Lily: (Admiringly) Aeliana, you’re so powerful!
Rosalie: (With relief) Thank you!
Gring: (Tries to hide, but Aeliana catches him by the tail)
Aeliana: (Looks at Gring with slight reproach) Gring, you could have lived peacefully, but you chose the path of mischief. You’ll have to answer for that.
Gring: (Begging) Please don’t! I… I won’t do it again!
Aeliana: (Releases his tail) Go, and don’t let me see you here again.
Gring: (Runs off stage quickly) I swear I won’t come back!
Scene 4: The Finale
(The faeries and Aeliana remain on stage.)
Lily: (Laughing) What an adventure we had!
Rosalie: (Agreeing) We were so silly we didn’t even notice the trap…
Aeliana: (Gently) The important thing is that everything turned out well. But be careful next time.
Lily: (Seriously) We definitely will, right, Rosalie?
Rosalie: (Nods) Yes, yes! No more suspicious flowers!
Aeliana: (Smiling) Good. Now, let’s get out of here before anyone else shows up!
(The faeries and Aeliana fly off toward the forest, and the stage fades to black.)
