Cult of Mimir
The adventurers first stepped into the shadowy streets of Dergorai — the majestic capital of the duergar, veiled in secrets, conspiracies, and subtle threats that lurked in every shadow. Hoping to better prepare for the trials of the Underdark, they spent two weeks studying the local tongue, learning just enough to communicate with the dark dwarves.
Before long, they discovered that Iskar — the man they had been tirelessly searching for — was last seen in the district known as Night Bargains. Their investigation led them to the tavern Last Cry, a notorious place steeped in incense smoke and whispered dealings. There, they met the tavern’s owner: Syndra, a professional poisoner and master of toxins, whose piercing gaze made it clear she was not to be trifled with. In exchange for information about a mysterious dragon’s whereabouts, she revealed the hidden location of the cult of Mimir.
That same night, fate introduced them to Wilks, the brutal mastermind behind the arena fights in Dergorai. Impressed by their skills, he promised great rewards if they joined an upcoming team battle.
Gaining entry to the cult proved easier than expected, and the group finally reunited with Iskar. However, his words planted seeds of doubt — should they really be seeking a dragon as an ally? The debate was cut short when the Great Pilgrimage to Mimir began. With blindfolds donned, the adventurers marched into the dark, surrounded by chanting fanatics.
After eight exhausting hours in utter darkness, they arrived at their destination: a massive cavern, where the supposed red dragon Mimir awaited. Draped in a luxurious cloak that concealed all but his head and crimson wings, he stood with commanding presence. The group was allowed to ask questions — and learned that Mimir was native to this world and harbored a deep loathing for Ptaris. Yet, something was wrong. There was an uncanny tension in his voice, a strangeness to his posture.
Their suspicions were confirmed when Mimir suddenly unleashed a blast of frost — an attack no true red dragon should possess.
Narrowly escaping with their lives, the party fled from the lair. But a haunting question remained:
Was that truly a dragon? And if not — what kind of creature had they just encountered in the depths of the Underdark?
