The Ghost in the Blanket
After a tense conversation with the mysterious dragon Mimir and a desperate escape from his fanatical followers, the adventurers found themselves facing a difficult dilemma. They had to choose: return to the dragon’s lair to uncover the secrets hidden beneath Mimir’s enchanted blanket, or travel to the capital city of Dergorai to negotiate with the Cult of Maria and understand why they were pursuing the dragon.
Amidst heated debates about trust and lengthy discussions on how to save Terragon, the party ultimately decided to return to the lair of the enigmatic creature. Using the spell Dispel Magic, they hoped to unravel the mystery of the blanket. With the help of the wise Iskar, the adventurers managed to slip quietly into the depths of the dragon’s den. There, Fenris and Danae lay hidden behind a glittering pile of treasure, waiting for the right moment.
But fate had its own plans. Just as Saya and Brotor were sneaking up to their companions, a loud, treacherous echo rang out — Saya couldn’t hold back a sneeze. The sound echoed off the cavern walls, instantly alerting the dragon. The massive creature turned sharply, demanding an explanation. In that tense moment, Danae cast a spell — but to her great surprise, it had no effect at all.
The battle erupted instantly, turning the cave into a field of ferocious combat. Enraged, the dragon tore off the blanket wrapped around him, revealing a horrifying truth — beneath it was a monstrous chimera. Faced with overwhelming power, the adventurers chose to retreat. They quickly used a teleportation scroll to flee into the Astral Plane: Fenris vanished first, followed by Danae and Brotor carrying a terrified Saya. Surina jumped through the portal last, barely escaping the beast’s claws.
As she disappeared into the magical vortex, Surina caught a final, haunting glimpse — a spectral dragon spirit emerged from the chimera’s fallen body, chasing after the group. But just as it approached the boundary between worlds, a massive golden claw appeared and seized the spirit, pulling it back.
Wasting no time, the party returned to the lair. There they found the chimera’s body, motionless. Using arcane magic, they transformed the fallen foe into a turtle and hurled it into the closing portal. Taking a portion of the dragon’s treasure and a mysterious glowing stone, they hurried back to Iskar.
It soon became clear that the artifact was the Tear of Sardior — an ancient relic that was clearly of great interest to Maria and her cult. Realizing the importance of the discovery, the group decided to hide the Tear in Lux Astra for safekeeping, until they could uncover the true motives of their enigmatic pursuers.
