The League of Free Knowledge is an underground organization embodying its members’ aspirations for the free dissemination of knowledge. Comprising artificers, wizards, scholars, and other individuals united by a shared interest in the democratization of magic and information, the League operates without centralized leadership, guided by principles of collegiality and anonymity.
The League’s motto, “Truth in Knowledge, Freedom in Action“, reflects their desire to spread knowledge and innovation to improve life for all. The organization’s primary objective is to replicate the Aetheris Essentia Compressorium device, aiming to make magic accessible to all who seek it, based on the belief that magical powers should be available to everyone, not just the elite.
To fund its projects and research, the League often forms alliances with various underground groups, including criminal syndicates, despite the risks and ethical compromises. These alliances enable the League to operate in secrecy, away from the authorities’ watchful eyes. Joining the League is a serious commitment, as any actions related to the illegal distribution of magic or production of mysteries are considered crimes punishable by death.
