The Stone Road is a path paved with dense cobblestone, connecting the settlement of Bator with the city of Dergorai. It was laid by dark dwarves to simplify the transportation of precious gems and Living Crystal Sard extracted in Bator. The road is wide enough for caravan passage and remains reliable despite its age.
Originally, the road continued farther — all the way to Menzoberranzan, passing through a network of tunnels now partially collapsed and abandoned. This older route was forsaken several centuries ago after relations between the dark dwarves and dark elves deteriorated. Since then, the route has changed, and the Stone Road now leads only to Dergorai.
Faint, worn symbols of old guilds can still be seen on some of the stones. Guarded caravans regularly travel this path, transporting resources in exchange for tools, slaves, and supplies. Despite patrols and fortifications, the road is not without dangers: ruined waypoints, signs of attacks, and forgotten passages deeper underground are not uncommon.
