Located at the entrance to Rakota Manor from the main road, the Drunken Thrush Tavern welcomes all travelers with warmth and comfort. This three-story stone building with wooden interior accents feels like the beating heart of the settlement — a place where stories come to life and new friendships are born.
Architecture & Atmosphere
The first floor houses a spacious hall with a massive fireplace, where a fire nearly always crackles. The scent of roasted meats, fresh bread, and spiced drinks fills the air, while the sound of burning logs provides a cozy background. The walls are adorned with carved wooden panels and hunting trophies said to recall the adventures of the owners’ ancestors. During winter holidays, a Midwinter Tree stands at the center of the hall, decorated with garlands and candles. Guests leave gifts beneath it, delighting one another with unexpected surprises.
The Tik Family
The tavern is run by a kind-hearted couple — Mia and Kapich Tik. Mia manages the establishment, greets guests, and ensures everything runs smoothly. Kapich, the head of the kitchen, is known for generous portions and rich flavors. Their three children — sons Ather and Kabai, and daughter Sara — help out whenever they can, especially during the festive season when the tavern is bustling with visitors.
Guest Lodging
The second and third floors are reserved for guest accommodations.
Guest Rooms: Spacious and warm, furnished with wooden beds and thick rugs to fend off the winter chill. The windows offer scenic views of the settlement and the Sunset Shadow mountain.
Family Quarters: Hidden on the third floor, these private rooms are not accessible to outsiders.
Menu & Traditions
The tavern’s menu shifts with the seasons, but in winter, guests can always enjoy:
- Stewed meat with vegetables, slow-cooked in ceramic pots;
- Hot spiced apple cider;
- Kapich’s signature pie filled with meat and cheese.
During the winter festivities, the tavern serves special dishes inspired by various cultural traditions, so that every guest can feel at home.
